ON THE PATH OF GREATNESS I

Have you ever imagined a world without telephones, movie theaters, recorded music or even electric lights? Well, the world was no different from that in 1847, when an extremely curious genius was born. His middle-class parents, in the bustling port of Milan, Ohio, had little to no idea, what creative genius they had begotten. The world apparently had not the simplest hint that he was going to light the World. I speak of Thomas Edison, the successful inventor, scientist, and businessman who received over a thousand patents in his lifetime. He was a man of Greatness.

Thinking of great leaders, we think of Washington, Lincoln, Churchill, and Roosevelt. Napoleon and Alexander the Great come to mind when we think of great warriors. Great scientists include Einstein, Edison, Archimedes, and Galileo. We all, in some area of our lives, have people we see as “Greats,” whom we look up to.

Perhaps you’re already thinking:

  • What causes these people to stand out on the horizon of history?
  • What causes them to rise above their contemporaries in our minds?
  • What was it that caused their legacy to enlarge with the passing of the years?
  • Could you possibly be as great or even greater?
  • Could you also possibly take steps that would put you on a sure path of greatness?

If this resonates with you, read on.
